Isa and I by the fountain in an outdoor restuarant where we had an omeltte and french toast!
Megan and Isa at the market.....it's so huge! Can you see one of the many volcanoes in the background?
Outside the Chosen Children's House, where we are staying. It's for families that are fostering thier soon to be adopted children.

As many of you know, my best friend, Megan and her husband are adopting a baby girl from Guatemala. On a spur of the moment trip, I flew down here yesterday to spend some time with Megan and baby Isabel while they are waiting for the adoption to finalize. Unfortunately, they don't know how much longer this could take, so at this point her homecoming date is unknown.
I got in yesterday. What a beautiful sight it was to fly into the mountainous region of Guatemala. Everything is so beautiful here. They people we have met are so friendly and I feel very safe here......although there are security guards that have machine guns in the nicer shops and by the banks! That is going to take some getting use to!
Today we walked around town to the market. It was fun bartering with the mechants! We are going to make fajitas tonight for dinner, and we were able to get 10 freshly made tortillas for 25 cents! we also bought some t-shirts for $3 and a pair of pants for $11! After our dinner tonight, we plan on watching one of the DVD's I brought with me.
Megan and I have always wanted to go on a vacation together and I can't think of a better way to do it. Isabel is a beautiful baby and is such a smilely little girl. I love her so much. Megan and Aaron asked Ryan and I to be the GODPARENTS and we are more than happy to take on that role! Isabel has learned to sit up by herself for a few seconds and it's soo neat to see her progress in the short time that I have been here.
